Springvale Road closure - thanks

Monday, 24 August 2009

The team at the Springvale Road Rail Separation Project would like to thank the community and road users for their support, patience and understanding while Springvale Road level crossing at Nunawading was closed from 8pm Friday 21 August until 4am Monday 24 August.

The works included:

  • Installation of 44 foundation piles across Springvale Road which will hold the retaining wall in place for the new Nunawading Station and pedestrian underpass.
  • Relocation of level crossing booms gates.
  • Removing aerial power cables and placing them underground in preparation for then new below ground rail lines.

Works were finished ahead of schedule and Springvale Road was reopened earlier than planned at approximately 4am Monday 24 August.
