Nunawading Station closed from 18 December
Train users are advised Nunawading Station will close at 8pm on Friday 18 December ahead of its demolition. The closure will assist the project achieve its goal in January of opening the new station, fresh-laid rail tracks and sunken island platform on the west side of Springvale Road.
On the evening of Friday 18th and through the weekend of 19-20 December, buses will replace scheduled train services between Blackburn and Ringwood Stations. While Belgrave / Lilydale line trains will resume normal timetabled running on Monday 21 December, they will not pick up or drop off customers at Nunawading. Customers will have replacement shuttle buses between Nunawading and Blackburn Stations until the new station opens.
Shuttle buses to Blackburn will arrive and depart from the east side of Springvale Road between Walkers Road and Whitehorse Road. Staff from Metro will be on hand to assist customers.
Buses to replace trains 12-13 December
Due to project works, buses will replace scheduled train services between Blackburn and Ringwood Stations after 11.30pm on Friday 11th and across the weekend of 12-13 December. Please visit www.metlinkmelbourne.com.au or call 131 638 for timetable details. Please allow extra journey time and note that no bicycles can be taken onto replacement buses.
January 2010 bus replacement services
On Friday 1 January and each weekend into January, train services will be replaced by buses between Blackburn and Ringwood Stations. On weekdays in January buses will replace trains between Blackburn and Mitcham Stations.
Mitcham and Blackburn station changes
From 13 December the north side car parks at both Mitcham and Blackburn Stations will undergo works to prepare for January bussing services. Neither area will be available for customer parking while bus replacement services operate in January.
